Unfinished Stories… the couch & I
it has value still. something that was once cast aside sits at the bottom of my staircase, just under the windows. whoever owned our couch before we did… i wish they could pop into our madness and see the folds of upholstery surrounded by so much life. hazel does backbend walk-overs off the side of it. anders loves to pull the cushions from their appropriate spot because a couch is apparently more fun without cushions. the kids stand on it and look out to bunny rabbits hopping in the front yard. they smell dinner in the oven and feel it…
the little tree in the front yard
when we first viewed this house, we saw the previous owner cooking in her kitchen as we walked up the drive. i immediately loved that… the kitchen is long and narrow & has three large windows that face the front yard. with a 2 year old & a 9 month old, i am in the kitchen a ton & there is just something so wonderful about all that light entering in & surrounding the dishes & goldfish & milk & bottles & whining & giggles. my view lately is particularly spectacular. i watch leaves fall & swirl up into the…
Fall Fun Pictures
Our good friends Becky & Shelly came up with an “Autumn Calendar”. This calendar has a different event every single day that celebrates & appreciates this wonderful season. All sorts of exciting & simple things like watch leaves fall, light a fall candle, have a picnic in the park. Yesterday, the calendar said “go to a pumpkin patch”…so we did. It was such a fun adventure. The farm was off the beaten path and we had a bit of difficulty finding it, so in the extra time it took to get there, Anders’ diaper & clothes didn’t quite hold up. Which,…
some summer snapshots
we took a ton of pictures, so it’s hard to narrow it down but here are a few from our trip. it was so great to be away & be with family and after 4 weeks away it’s really great being home again too.
four pictures
just because i’m his mom & every mom oohs & ahhs at pictures of their kids. what a looker, huh? happy birthday, son.
dear dad, love rascals
dear dad, thank you for how many hours you spent on your knees on my behalf. thank you for loving every little thing about me & for loving me so well. thank you for doing everything to take care of me… from talking to doctors & finding the right food pump to walks around Wilson park & our late night time. only we know how that time together night after night in those late hours was so special. thanks for celebrating each moment I was with you. I guess most folks would look at our time together as short, but…
Fabulous Four
Anders turned 4 months last week. Most folks would guess he’s older because he is a big boy…18 pounds & very long, just about an inch shy of how long Hazel was at 9 months. It really has flown by! Some moments seem like I was just on bedrest yesterday & some moments seem like he’s been here forever. He continues to be such a sweet gentle soul. Laid back on most everything except for a few particulars. He laughs, coos & lately has discovered his voice saying “ooooohh, ooooohh, ooooohhh” anytime he’s awake. He smiles huge at big sister Hazel(19…

it’s hard to get a good picture of both. there’s a million deleted ones, but we finally got some keepers.
