Thanks to everyone who has stopped by during BLEMISH IS BEAUTY.  Thanks to you, I feel that we have been able to shed light on something often kept in the dark- the plight of special needs children internationally.  Come back this week as we’ve decided to try and help out the Miriam Center and a current need they have…please help us spread the word and help these children.

I wanted to take just a second to give some update on us and our journey.  We will be leaving for Ukraine on October 8th!  As many of you know, we are in the process of adopting a girl named Lena from Ukraine.  We were hoping to have brought her back by now, but are in a legal limbo with Ukraine as we wait for them to publish the “special needs list”.  So, we will not be bringing her back with us.  However, in the mean time, we will be meeting her very soon.  We are headed over there along with our therapy team as they work in her orphanage.  It is our goal to set up a plan for her care until we are able to come back and get her.  We plan on updating the blog through out.  Obviously, this trip will be a mixed bag of emotions, but we’re ecstatic to hold her.  Actually, if you follow that link I provided above, the picture is of our team working with her on their last trip.  Yep, she’s a beauty.

I cannot wait to write more on Hazel and Anders as well.  Our house is currently wild, and maybe I should accept that this moniker deserves permanent status as the best adjective for the Mooneys.  But right behind would have to be “wonderful”.

Also, there’s a webcast starting tomorrow of the NOW conference; one I got to speak at not too long ago.  I assure you there are better speakers than me- including Jen Hatmaker who will be posting soon in our series- here’s the link:  http://bit.ly/pCNSaw

Thanks again, for going on this journey we’ve entitled Blemish is Beauty.  The strength and reach of a group of people- connected primarily online- never ceases to astound me.
