the circus comes to town

by Matt MooneyApril 17, 2010

Anders is laughing & cooing; continuing in his easygoing and charming ways.  He’s even allowed his mom and dad to sleep 7 continuous hours a few times- a feat his sister did not manage to pull off until around 8 months.

Speaking of, Hazel is busy making teeth.  They look gargantuan in her 18-month mouth.  We are ever learning how to discipline her- and by learning, I mean trying everything once and seeing if anything works.

Dear 18 year old Hazel:
We love you.  We’re doing the best we can.  Hope you have no facial tattoos or piercings.  If you do, oh well…at 18 months, we’ve already proved we’ll love you through it all.

Ginny’s life can best be described as a full plate.  It’s just that it is a plate without variety, pretty much  only one thing on it- heaped full with the main entrée of turkey or ham or whatever you fancy.  Her day is kids, and although sanity can sometimes sneak away for a smoke break, she would have it no other way.

Eliot’s life continues its trajectory as well.  We are looking forward to taking the Mooney circus to New York City from next Sunday through Thursday (April 25-29).  We’ve already discussed that more than half of this trip will be determined by our attitudes.

So, I am praying not to assault anyone who glares at my wife or kids on the flight.

We will be on the Today Show on Monday, April 26th.  I don’t have the details of what time in the show or anything like that yet.  I’ll post some NYC highlights along the way via twitter/fb from the trip.

While we are there, we will be celebrating Ginny’s birthday (27th) & our 9th anniversary (28th)- as many of you know, that is actually Ginny’s half birthday that we celebrate as her actual birthday (October 27th) date falls on a day more difficult to focus on her.

Just so you know, the post following this one is a new one as well.  I posted two at the same time.  It is my response to an e-mailer’s question.  One that I have been thinking about for 2.5 years.

Wow I did not understand the date reference, went back through youtube to watch Eliot’s video and check the dates. I then reposted Eliot’s link and have since shared it with more people via facebook.
    So touching more lives…

GM: wow! sometimes I just hate dates…and their significance and other times, they are a huge deal… Have a great birthday (wink)

I will be watching, you are an example of life going on and what and how to live.
