I am still attempting to process the Africa trip, though I am coming to believe that doing so will be more akin to a fine wine than a TV dinner. I think I just dated myself with that reference….do you even know what a TV dinner is? How ‘bout Steve Miller Band or the Cosby Show? If you are confused, I am sorry and you are young.
And what are you doing reading blogs if you’re young, this is for those of us who can no longer escape the orbit of our homes, and so we use screens to reach out to the world. If you are young, go on. Leave. Get out there. Go live enough life to have something to blog about yourself.
Okay, for the rest of us, where were we?
Ginny and I and the rascals are entering the last 10 days of what will be a month in Petoskey, Michigan- though for me there was that little tidbit of coming and going to different continents thrown in there. We settle in to high temps in the 70’s quite nicely and send texts back to our friends in Arkansas that include pictures of us donning long sleeves- just that, no words. It is quite cruel, but it is our way of showing them we miss them….not enough to come back to the heat though.
Due to the blog series, I took a month and a half hiatus from blogging on my own blog, however I was able to do some guest posts on others. Here they are in case there is a freak snow storm and you find yourself bored. If no storm comes, I may be posting these one at a time on the blog just to see if I can slide some laziness by you.
In addition, some folks have reviewed the book and even seemed to like it:
Also, if you’re near northern Michigan this Thursday (Aug 1st), then come out to my favorite book shop for a discussion of the book along with wine and cheese.
Or just cheese-say if you aren’t down with fermentation or are attempting to stay on the bandwagon.
Or just come- if cheese causes gastrointestinal problems for you and such.
