new buildings. no mountain.

If you are new or have slept, you can catch up on our adoption process through a couple of my posts & Ginny’s recent (& beautiful) summation. Our red little ranch home now has a two-story addition where a one-car garage stood just weeks ago. Well, at least its the skeleton of what is coming; I’ve been profusely told that construction frames like a cougar, then slows to a sloth. Still, I have awoken more than once and been surprised to find the new wing sprouting- having forgotten at some point in my slumber that we really are doing this….

Here are some photos I snapped with my phone when I realized what was going on.  I find it a bit weird honestly,  that I thought to take photos, but I guess I didn’t want to just dismiss  it later as something I made up.  These photos illustrate the story I told below- “the day the music died”. Color your own picture today. Go outside the lines. Color blues where others shade green. Show me the way only you see it, and I, myself, will be better off.

I’ve slipped just a bit in my attempt for 7 blogs in 7 days, but I will come through.  This is number 6, so you can bet it all on the one that says there’s another coming soon. As a father of 3 (and soon to be 4), I watch my children in multi-faceted ways.  I am striving to observe, to realize that a moment holds infinite gifts for those who are grasping for the very things that could, if allowed , just as easily slip away unnoticed.  The act of parenting is not merely a role in which I…

weekend rambles.

Surprise, surprise…it was raining again this weekend, but the Mooney family did not allow that simple decades-long reality to stop us. On Sunday, we loaded up the rascals and headed 20 miles east of Fayetteville to the rural community of Durham. We didn’t have a whole lot to go on, but we were itching for an outing. Let me pause here and say, “I” was itching for an outing. Ginny is content to stay within the walls of the house for somewhere around 25 hours a day. I used to be as well.
