the deck party

by Matt MooneyApril 28, 2011

It stopped raining for the first time in what must have been a decade, skies clearing out and making way for a party I had planned outside for some of the gals in Ginny’s life.  I tried to play up the deck theme as whimsical and hip, failing to mention that it was the only way to have folks over to our little ranch home and not wake up the sleeping rascals.

I spent quite a bit of time prepping the deck and house, imagining scenes from MTV’s “Sweet Sixteen”- but I knew all along that regardless of the look & feel, Ginny would love this party- because all that is really needed is just to get these gals together (dessert helps) and beautiful fun will enter in.  And it did.

It was a great night, thanks friends; although I must admit my panick- 2 hours into the party- as I realized that I totally failed to invite someone that I meant to.  Sorry.  And if you think this is you…then it is.

It was so good for my soul, Matt, and it looked great.

If anyone is worth celebrating, it’s your amazing wife – one of my favorite people on the planet.
