a stroll down Christmas lane

Thanks for the feedback through the poll deciding on what topic to blog on.  There’s a new poll out soon, so click a button on the right- even if your apathetic.  Christmassy blog won out, so here goes nothing.  This post is in conjunction with Christmas Change, so, in the words of Paul Harvey, go over there “for the rest of the story”.

As we enter in to what will really be- for all intents & purposes- our first Christmas with children, there is quite a bit to think about.  Of course, this is not actually our first Christmas with kids- Hazel is 2; it’s just our first where at least one of them is cognizant that something special is going on.  So this is where we, as a family, begin whatever traditions we will carry forward.  When thought of in this way, the whole notion presents quite a quandary.  We are shaping our children’s view of this monumental day in our culture, but more importantly a pivotal piece of our faith.

How will we keep her presents from eclipsing His presence?
